So I’ve never seen the movie The Bucket List with Morgan Freeman and Jack Nicholson…but with moving creeping up on me (uhh 6 days?!?) and the symbolic end of summer fast approaching there have been a few “must-dos” on my list before packing everything up…it felt like an appropriate theme for my life right now.
In the next week or so, I plan on cramming in as many local gems as possible before hitting the road.
One of those summer bucket list items is Memories Ice Cream. It’s this little, former dairy barn in Kingston, NH that they’ve transformed into an ice cream shop – and I’ve been going for uhh..as long as I can remember.
Basically, it’s adorable…
Annnd, the most important part, their ice cream, sherbet, frappes, sorbets…whatever… are delicious!

Plus, it’s a great place to make new friends….

It’s just so quintessentially NH…which is something I’ve come to appreciate over time. I’m definitely looking forward to being back in the city swing of things, but you just can’t replicate this experience. I mean…homemade ice cream at a dairy barn, hanging out in Adirondack chairs and enjoying the perfect summer day? Doesn’t get much better.
While I’m not moving so far away that I’ll never, ever be back…I’ll use the excuse to get my hands on an amazing, chilly summer treat.
- What’s on your end-of-summer bucket list?
- What’s one local thing that you’d have to do if you were moving away from wherever you are?
I love local ice cream places. I feel like they put so much more time and energy into the sweets. Plus, they always have delicious flavors! Watermelon sherbet – yum!

Totally agree. It’s personal! and I think it definitely comes through. Plus, it’s a great treat…I rarely buy ice cream and if I do, it’s usually double churned/low fat…so a big ole scoop of the real deal every once in a while is amaaazing.
